Attention to detail

In the writing world, there is a concept called “show don’t tell."

The idea is that if a writer wants to communicate the meaning of a moment, they should resist telling the reader the meaning, and instead show it, by describing the actions and details.

In a visual medium like photography, all communication is non-verbal, so the potential for communicating a story through actions and details is bound only by your eye for the small stuff.

A good picture speaks a thousand words, a bad picture just sits there kind of awkward-like.

Being present

The thing with your big day, is that it’s probably going to be- a big day.

Getting-ready photos, wardrobe malfunctions, the emcee has something to tell you, Georgia wants her hug, you forgot your hay fever tablets, and you’re 99% sure nobody invited that guy wearing sunnies at the bar.

Everybody seems to want a piece of you. So what’s left for you?

Well, as a photographer I try to be aware of my presence at your wedding day, remembering that behind every bride and groom, there are two individuals who deserve the space to enjoy their day together.

In the words of the great Alfred Eisenstaedt: “It is more important to click with people than to click the shutter.”

The usual spiel

There’s a hundred-and-something wedding photographers around South Australia and you’ve probably realised by now that we’re all losing our minds about timelessness, authenticity, natural vibes etc.

I think you’ve hear quite enough of us nutters chat on about all that,

so check these out.

Some of my favourite work so far…

Now, allow me to introduce myself…

A young man with dark wavy hair, wearing a denim jacket and gray pants, sitting on a stool against a white fabric backdrop, with green leaves partially visible in the foreground.

Well, much of my free time is spent doom-scrolling Facebook Marketplace for hip-hop CD’s, writing songs for an album that will never exist, and, yes- editing photos.

Beyond that, I’ve taken the art of photography far too seriously for about as long as I can remember.

So, if you want your wedding day photographed by someone who truly loves photography - you’re in the right place.
